Dr Ben Woodcock
Ecological Entomologist, Centre of Ecology & Hydrology

"The Earth Trust and its holdings represent a key strategic collaborative resource for research undertaken at the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology. They represent an interface between land management and the scientific community and as such provide a framework for developing projects that have an emphasis on biodiversity and its use for promoting agricultural productivity though the enhancement of key ecosystem services.

The strategic emphasis of the Earth Trust to focus on sustainable land management means that they do not have a specific organic orientated agenda.  This means that as an organisation they are extremely open to developing new research avenues that combine both conventional agricultural and biodiversity orientated approaches to sustainable land management.  Significantly the Earth Trust is well networked and has an open attitude towards collaboration which makes them an integral research partner for our research and that of other academic organisations."
