The route starts at our Earth Trust Centre and heads straight out to the foot of the Wittenham Clumps. From here, you’ll run along a grassy footpath through the wildflower meadows towards Church Meadow. At the gate to Church Meadow, turn right and run along the hedgerow; go through the gate and enter the beautiful Little Wittenham Wood. The path takes you through the woodland, for just under a kilometre; once you exit the woods, you’ll run in a straight line through farmland before reaching the water station and turning left just before North Farm, and running around a field boundary until you hit the River Thames. Follow the meandering river, with the River of Life wetland to your right, for just under a kilometre, then it’s back through the farmland and past North Farm (and the water station), through Little Wittenham Wood to the base of the Clumps. From here it’s an uphill climb to the peak of Round Hill (one of the two famous Wittenham Clumps) then across to the second Clump - Castle Hill. Once you’ve run around the top of the hill you can begin the sprint to the finish line, heading downhill and onto the home straight!
