Special experiences, new skills and discovering new talents
Discovering is about providing people with special experiences that enable them to learning new skills and discovering new talents.
Our aim is that people come away feeling that there is much they can offer and keen to do so. From traditional countryside activities like hedge laying and basket weaving through to building a coracle boat, we want everyone to have a great time and get their hands dirty. Discovering is also about providing people with the land so that they can put their new found ‘green’ skills to good use and our Farm Step Business Project enables people to do just that.
Getting close to nature
Our places are perfect for people to get close to nature. We offer a diverse range of opportunities for all age groups. Schools and youth groups can take part in our ‘Outdoor Classroom’ activities which are linked to the educational curriculum – although the children have too much fun to realise it!
Older children can gain countryside qualifications and adults can learn or hone their plant and animal ID skills (Wild about nature). Young and old alike might like to join our Wilderness Survival Skills activities – experiencing what it is like to live outdoors.
