Spring Appeal

An appeal for wildlife at the Little Wittenham Nature Reserve

The Little Wittenham Nature Reserve, famous for the Wittenham Clumps and Little Wittenham Wood, is home to an enormous range of wildlife including several important species for whom it is a crucial stronghold in Britain. However, population numbers of some key species on the reserve are still at risk.

We urgently need to raise £10,000 in order to safeguard wildlife populations this year. We're over half-way there! Please help us reach our goal.

We need your help so that we can all continue to benefit from the many important habitats and species found on Earth Trust Nature Reserves. Our goal is to enable wildlife to thrive across all our sites now and into the future.

With your support we are doing some really exciting conservation work here at the Little Wittenham Nature Reserve, such as creating and restoring traditional wildflower meadows, introducing bat boxes and bat monitoring schemes, and creating new breeding habitat for great crested newts. Find out more...

How your donation could help...

£15 could pay for one sack of wildflower seed, enough for 300 square metres of wildflower meadow
£20 could help us introduce a wildflower margain or create two metres of hedgerow
£30 could create and sustain enough suitable habitat to support a pair of great crested newts
£50 could allow us to buy and install one bat box in Little Wittenham Wood
£100 could also support important bat and bird ringing and monitoring programmes.

We believe actions speak louder than words. If you can help us by donating, we will take action right now.
