Earth Trust announces new Chief Executive

The Trustees of the Earth Trust are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Jayne Manley as the new Chief Executive. 

Jayne joined the Earth Trust 3 years ago as Director of Development. She was the driving force behind renaming the Trust, with a very strong focus on supporting people as we learn about how we can live more sustainably in future.  Since October she has been Acting Chief Executive since Harry Barton’s departure. She brings a strong practical background in conservation and ecology, land management, policy, communication and fundraising. Previously she worked for Plantlife International and English Nature.

Robin Buxton, Chair of Trustees said “I am absolutely delighted to be announcing Jayne’s appointment today. The Earth Trust like other charities is finding the current economic climate difficult and Jayne’s role will focus on leading the Trust and turning its new vision into reality. She has a particular ability to develop strong brands and use them to engage people”.

Jayne Manley said “The world around us is changing and people are far more aware of environmental issues than they were 10 years ago but we still have a long way to go. I am looking forward to working with communities and exploring solutions to our many environmental issues. The job we have to do is getting ever more challenging but a real privilege!”
